DESCRIPTION: France, probably for the English market, a brass Gothic style mantel clock set with signed Wedgwood plaques, Japy Freres eight day time and strike, movement, white enamel Roman numeral dial, Breguet style hands, bezel with beveled glass, polished brass case with columned corners, topped by acorn form finials, set with blue signed Wedgwood jasper plaques decorated with classical and allegorical motifs, each set in its own black painted, metal frame c1860
CONDITION: movement running and striking, bell missing, pendulum replaced, dial very good, hands rusty, brass case polished and lacquered, two small dents in top, Wedgwood plaques very good overall, square jasper panel on left side with two small chips. Ht 14"
